Peru participated in the International Fair of the Fruit and Vegetable Sector Fruit Attraction in Madrid, Spain, representing the third largest market for its agricultural exports. The country's total agricultural exports to Spain from January to July 2021 reached a value of US $ 307 million, marking a 22% increase year-on-year. The Peruvian pavilion at the fair featured 16 companies and 5 unions, and received positive feedback from participating companies regarding the quality of visitors. Peru's main exports to Spain include avocados, grapes, and asparagus, and the country is also promoting its ethnic products in Spain. The Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperú) is working to further promote Peruvian products in Spain and is considering introducing pineapple, organic bananas, and kaki in the Spanish market.
