In the second quarter of 2024, Peru experienced a significant decrease in olive exports, with a 41.5% reduction in volume and a 20.3% decrease in value compared to the previous year, despite an increase in the average price per kilogram by 36.2%. The country exported 6,856 tons of olives worth $16.5 million to 23 markets, with Brazil and the United States being the top two recipients. The exports consisted mainly of processed olives (70.5%), followed by olive oil (18.7%), and fresh olives (10.8%).
