The Peruvian Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri) organized the First International Congress of Beef to prepare local producers for meat export and boost the competitive beef cattle industry. The conference, led by the National Institute of Agrarian Innovation (INIA), aimed to socialize new knowledge, increase per capita consumption, and enhance export capacity by focusing on quality pastures, high genetic value cattle, and breeding knowledge. It also stressed the importance of environmental sustainability in livestock farming. The congress covered various aspects of beef production, including industrial cattle crossing, pasture quality, and innovative feeding systems. A visit to the Genetic Nucleus of Cattle at the Donoso Agrarian Experimental Station in Huaral was part of the event, showcasing INIA's advances in genetic improvement of cattle.
