In 2020, Peru's agricultural exports reached a value of $7,487.58 million, a 6% increase from 2019, with the US as the primary buyer. The Agrarian Promotion Law contributed to creating formal employment and reducing poverty. However, the new Law on the Agrarian Labor Regime and Incentives for the Agrarian and Irrigation, Agro-exporter and Agroindustrial Sector poses a threat to these advances. Traditional agriculture exports, including coffee, cane sugars, and cane molasses, saw a 6.3% decline. Non-traditional agricultural-agroindustrial subsector exports, such as grapes, blueberries, avocado, fresh asparagus, and fresh mangoes, increased by 7%. The number of markets reached fell by 10 to 140.
