Peruvian artichoke exports totaled 34,689 tons for US$ 101 million between January and October

(Agraria.pe) From January to October 2023, artichoke shipments from Peru totaled 34,689 tons for US$ 101 million (US$ 2.92 per kilogram), which meant a drop of -19% in volume and -16 % in value compared to the 43,007 tons for US$ 120 million (US$ 2.79 per kilogram) registered in the same period of 2022 It is worth mentioning that the lower volumes sold allowed a slight increase in the price (+5%), which partially offset the drop in the exported value. Regarding the destinations of the product, during these months, the United States was its main importer. This country purchased 21,205 tons for US$61 million, a figure that represented a reduction of -28% in volume and -24% in value. In second place was Spain with 10,126 tons for US$30 million, which represented an increase of +6% in volume and +8% in value.
