Peru's Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Ángel Manero, has announced that the country's blueberry exports are expected to surpass US$3 billion in 2025, driven by private investment and state support. The country achieved record sales of over US$2.27 billion in 2024. The government is also working to grow the agricultural sector through irrigation projects, land titling, and market opening. Manero stressed the importance of product and market diversification and mentioned the upcoming AgroAplica fund to encourage new projects in agriculture, livestock, and related fields. This announcement was made at the 34th International Blueberry Seminar in Lima, where the inclusion of cherry cultivation was highlighted.
