In 2024, Peru became the world's leading blueberry exporter, with exports reaching US$2.27 billion, a 35% increase from 2023, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). The country shipped 326,000 tons of blueberries, marking a 57% increase from the previous year. Over 11% of these exports were organic. The United States was the primary market, accounting for 55% of the total, followed by the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and the United Kingdom. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fisheries (MIDAGR) anticipates that this year's export volume could exceed 350,000 tons, provided that climate phenomena do not affect cultivation.
