From January to August 2024, Peru's broad bean exports reached a total of 1,935.2 tons, finding home in 17 markets across the world. The United States emerged as the leading consumer, accounting for 36% of the exports, followed by Ecuador with 18%. The remaining 46% was distributed among other countries. Agro Fergi S.A.C. led the export efforts, contributing 22% of the shipments, followed by Coproimpex S.A.C. with 16.4%. The broad bean producing regions in Peru include Cusco, Puno, Huancavelica, Huánuco, Ayacucho, and Cajamarca. Despite exporting 16% of its production, the majority of the broad beans (84%) are consumed domestically.
