This was reported by the director of Agriculture and Climate Change of Resources, José Yturrios Padilla, who highlighted that one out of every five dollars of these exports is generated by 350,000 small coffee and cocoa farmers, who cultivate around 700,000 hectares in 16 regions of the Peruvian Amazon. He pointed out that this achievement is reached despite the enormous technological gaps that have persisted for decades, where only 12% of cocoa producers and 25% of coffee growers use fertilizers, less than 10% receive any technical assistance, only 9% have access to credit, and only 0.1% use technical irrigation.
