Starting from March 2023, Peru's organic quinoa exports to the European Union will no longer require additional controls, following the resolution of issues related to pesticide residues in 2015. This development is due to the efforts of the Association of Exporters and the cooperation with national authorities. The removal of organic quinoa from the EU's list of organic products subject to additional controls is anticipated to facilitate exports not only of quinoa but also of lemon, pomegranate, and coffee. In the first 10 months of 2024, Peru's quinoa exports reached 68 countries, with the United States as the primary recipient, marking a significant increase compared to the previous year.
