In July 2024, Peru experienced a significant boost in its pea exports, with a total of 3,060 tons earning $10.7 million, marking a 64% increase in volume and a 65% increase in value compared to the same period in the previous year. This surge was primarily due to the higher volume of exports rather than a change in the average price, which remained steady at $3.48 per kilogram. The exports were evenly divided between sweet peas and snow peas, and were delivered to ten different destinations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, the United Netherlands, Japan, and Canada. DP World, APM Terminals, and Jorge Chávez International Airport were the ports of choice for shipping these peas, with DP World being the most frequently used. The main exporters were FRG Farms S.A.C., Fair Fruit Perú S.A.C., and the Andean Growers Group S.A.C.
