Peruvian pea exports grew by more than 60% in July 2024

Peruvian pea exports totaled 3,060 tons for $10.7 million during July 2024, which represented an increase of 64% in volume and 65% in value compared to the same period of the previous year. According to FreshFruit, this increase in revenue was due to the greater volume shipped, as the average price remained firm at $3.48 per kilogram. Exports were distributed between sweet peas (55%) and snow peas (45%), reaching 10 destinations in the month, four more than in July 2023. The United States was the main destination, with a share of 57%, acquiring 1,878 tons for $6.1 million and an average price of $3.26 per kilogram. The United Kingdom followed (25%), with 684 tons acquired for $2.6 million, at an average price of $3.83 per kilogram.
