At the macroeconomic level, the global trade of peppers (sweet and hot) reached an approximate value of US$ 7,500 million during 2024, maintaining sustained growth. Participation in this market is concentrated in agro-industrial powers with large-scale models: Mexico (23.9% of the total value), Spain (22.8%), Netherlands (15.5%), Canada (8.0%), and the United States (5.2%). These five countries concentrate around 75% of the total export value. The international context is marked by climatic volatility and phytosanitary problems, which have generated conjunctural opportunities.
