Peruvian quinoa reached 42 markets in October 2024

(Agraria.pe) In October 2024, Peru's quinoa exports registered growth, maintaining the positive streak of recent months. During this month, 5,800 tons of quinoa were shipped for US$ 14.2 million, which represented an increase of +38% in volume and +48% in value compared to the same month of the previous year. In addition, the average price increased by 7%, standing at US$ 2.46 per kilogram. In this month, the product reached 42 destinations, of which the United States remained the main market for Peruvian quinoa, representing 41% of the total exported. In this country, Peruvian exports totaled 2,293 tons for US$ 5.8 million, with an average price of US$ 2.54 per kilogram. This performance represented a growth of +43% in volume, +48% in value and a +4% increase in the average price compared to October 2023.
