Peruvian piquillo pepper exports have experienced a significant surge this year, with a 29.3% annual growth from January to August, reaching a value of $33.7 million. In August alone, exports amounted to $6.8 million, a 66.4% increase from the previous year, with a total of 4,058 tons shipped. Despite the increased volume, the price per kilogram dropped by 18.5% to $1.66. The exports were primarily made by four agro-exporting companies, led by Ecosac Agrícola S.A.C., with Spain, the United States, and Puerto Rico being the main destinations.
