Despite a 4% drop in exports from January to November 2023, the US remains the primary market for Pisco, a Peruvian drink, accounting for 34% of total shipments. The decrease is due to overstock in the US and increased domestic consumption in Peru. The Exporters Association (Adex) is working on a strategy to diversify markets and increase Pisco volume. The top ten markets, including Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the UK, Colombia, Germany, Canada, and Ecuador, make up 78% of total shipments. Pisco production is mainly in Lima, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua, and Tacna, and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has announced a 'Pisco for the World' program to aid Ica producers in simplifying their shipments.
