Family farmers from Lancones launch agribusiness project with goal of 100 installed hectares

With a clear vision of productive innovation through alternative and profitable crops, family agriculture producers from the border district of Lancones, in the province of Sullana, Piura region, have begun the installation and planting of a pilot plot of one hectare of stevia. This action marks the beginning of the agribusiness project for the value chain of this natural crop, with the projection of installing 100 hectares in the short term, benefiting organized small and medium farmers. The pilot plot will allow validation of the crop's management and agronomic handling system, and will have two productive evaluation periods. This space will serve as a model to train producers involved in the project's expansion, which is being developed under environmentally responsible practices and oriented toward the food and health agroindustry.
