The center of the country is experiencing extraordinary cold days that extend far beyond the early morning hours. During the last 24 hours, in localities like General Villegas, thermometers remained 19 consecutive hours below zero, a scene that was repeated in much of the core region, while wheat planting advances at a sustained pace toward its final stage. According to Cristian Russo, head of the Strategic Guide for Agriculture (GEA) of the Rosario Stock Exchange, the magnitude of the phenomenon even surpassed the polar irruptions of previous weeks. "We are seeing temperature records well below zero. In Hernando it reached -7.5 °C, in Montes de Oca -6 °C, and in Carlos Pellegrini -7 °C.
