The Polish Chief Inspectorate of Plant Protection and Seed Inspection has received a proposal from Israel's Plant Protection and Inspection Services (PPIS) for phytosanitary requirements for fresh tomato exports to Israel. This development marks the start of tomato exports to Israel, with the requirement for Israeli importers to obtain a permit and ensure the tomatoes come from a facility with pest control measures against the Colorado potato beetle. The tomatoes must also be officially inspected and free from certain plant debris, and accompanied by a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Polish Inspectorate.
