An inspection by the Agricultural and Food Quality Inspection (IJHARS) in February 2025 revealed that large-scale retail stores are providing incorrect information about the country of origin of pork. The inspection of 164 batches of pork, with a total weight of 2.2 tons, identified that five batches labeled as 'Polish' were actually from other countries. The inspection also found irregularities in every fifth store visited. The IJHARS has initiated administrative proceedings against the traders and reminding consumers that it is a requirement for meat products to have accurate labeling indicating their country of origin.
