In January-April, pork exports in value terms exceeded $298 million, while poultry meat shipments were at $295 million, according to the federal center "Agroexport". Pork exports surpassed poultry exports for the first time. During the same period last year, poultry exports abroad were significantly higher — at $225 million versus pork shipments of $151 million. The main buyers of Russian pork in the first four months of this year were Belarus (over $100 million), Vietnam (over $88 million), and China (more than $50 million). The largest buyers of poultry meat were China (around $127 million), Saudi Arabia (over $71 million), and Kazakhstan (over $26 million). The growth in pork exports is associated with expanded supplies to key markets, especially to China, with sales increasing from over $7.5 million in January-April of the previous year.
