At the International Symposium of the Federation of Rural Associations of Mercosur in Gualeguaychú, Entre Ríos, Argentina announced its first export of pork to Uruguay, traditionally a market for Brazilian pork. This agreement, celebrated by officials and industry representatives from both nations, is a significant milestone for the Argentine pork industry and aims to enhance regional economic competitiveness. Initially, three Argentine meat processing plants will export chilled boneless pork to Uruguay, with the possibility of more joining.
