Ukrainian farmers are offering strawberries and blackberries at record low prices, with fresh blueberries starting from UAH 80/kg ($1.9) and raspberries from UAH 100/kg ($2.5). This is due to a global surge in blueberry production, says Andrii Yarmak, economist at the UN FAO. Despite the low prices, there is potential for profit in blueberry cultivation, especially with direct exports. The country is also expected to see a rise in the frozen blueberry segment, with demand in the EU and Asia.
