Ukraine: Prices for blueberries are already lower than for raspberries

Farmers are already offering blackberries at prices starting from UAH 80/kg ($1.9), while raspberries for the fresh market are currently sold wholesale for no less than UAH 100/kg, and raspberries for freezing – from UAH 60 to 80/kg. Previously, the shock for the producers was the drop in the price of the berry to the level of $2.5 per kg, but such price drops happened only sporadically, and the price usually stayed at such a low level for no more than a week or two. Most blueberry plantations in Ukraine were established when the price of the berry did not fall below $6-7/kg.
