Over the past year, all types of cereals in Ukraine have noticeably increased in price. Barley prices have risen the most, by 37.8%, followed by buckwheat, which increased by 19.1%. The smallest increase was seen in millet, with only a 9.1% rise, stated economist Oleg Pendzin in a comment for "RBK-Ukraine." The expert also shared what to expect during the autumn. According to him, the cost of cereals will be shaped by the general inflation in the country, logistics costs, and, most importantly, the grain harvest. Currently, Ukraine is still in the midst of its new harvest campaign. The expert notes that the situation with grain this year is worse than last year. "The harvest is worse than last year's. Since there will be less grain, the prices for it will be higher. Accordingly, the prices for cereals will probably go up. It is difficult to say in percentage terms how much yet," he emphasized.
