Isaac Kwadwo Gyamfi, the Regional Director of Solidaridad West Africa, has urged financial institutions to provide financing for young people interested in cocoa production but lack the necessary funds. He also urged landowners to provide land for youth to engage in agriculture. The call was made during the conclusion of the Solidaridad Next Generation Cocoa Youth Programme (MASO) in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, Ghana. The five-year programme, funded by the Mastercard Foundation and implemented by six consortium members, aimed to provide viable career options for the youth in cocoa-growing communities in Ghana, with over 13,000 young people enrolled and over 4,100 establishing cocoa farms.
