The 2026 national budget for the Fisheries Resources Agency (FIRA, Director Kim Jong-duk) has been confirmed at 929.2 billion won, an increase of 3.0% (27.1 billion won) from the 2025 budget of 902.1 billion won. FIRA Director Kim Jong-duk stated at a press conference on the 9th that, reflecting changes in the domestic and international environment, improvements have been made to the vision, core values, management policies, and goals, establishing mid- to long-term management objectives from 2026 to 2030. Four strategic directions and 12 strategic tasks were presented.
