The Office of Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) released its fruit bulletin for January 2022, highlighting a 6.4% increase in volume and 13.8% increase in value in processed fruit exports compared to the same period in 2020. The report emphasizes the highest value representativity in sales was frozen fruit (34%), followed by dehydrated (25.7%), preserves (18.2%), juices (17.6%), and oils (4.5%). Notably, only oils experienced a decrease in sales (4%). The report also points out the increase in the value of juices (43%) and frozen foods (14%). Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries were the top sellers in the Frozen segment, with significant shipments to the United States, Canada, Australia, and Japan. The Dehydrated products stand out for the sale of plums and raisins, with the United States, the Netherlands, and Peru being the main buyers. Canned products performed well thanks to peaches and apples, with the United States and Mexico being the main buyers. Finally, olive oil achieved sales of USD 55.3 million FOB, with significant shipments to the United States (43%) and Brazil (42%). Overall, fruit generated total exports of 3.42 million tons, valued at USD 7,183 million FOB.
