Cambodia has seen a rise in red corn production for animal feed, with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (Maff) reporting an increase from 1.5 million tons in 2023 to 1.7 million tons in 2024. Despite this, overall production is decreasing due to challenges posed by hot weather and water shortages. The majority of the production is concentrated in several provinces, including Battambang, Pailin, Tbong Khum, Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Cham, Kratie, Preah Vihea and Kandal.
