The production costs of genetically modified soybeans for the 25/26 crop in Mato Grosso fell in September compared to August. According to the Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics (Imea), last month, the producer spent R$ 4,173.76 to seed 1 hectare with genetically modified soybeans, a value 1.96% lower than that recorded in August, which was R$ 4,257.10. The drop was driven by lower expenses on fertilizers and pesticides. The outlay for fertilizers and amendments fell from R$ 1,947.43 per hectare in August to R$ 1,879.33 in September. Meanwhile, the expenditure on pesticides decreased to R$ 1,225.64 in September, compared to R$ 1,257.01 in August. In contrast, expenses on seeds increased.
