The Regional Government of Puno, through the Ovinos Norte project of the Andean Rural Development Support Program (Pradera), executed the second stage of fixed-time artificial insemination in the district of San Juan de Salinas, Azángaro province, achieving a 70% reproductive success rate and strengthening the sheep production calendar in the northern region. It was also reported that the project is on track to reach the goal of 20,000 inseminated sheep, consolidating genetic improvement and increasing sheep productivity in the northern region.
