The Fruit Trees Project of the Regional Agrarian Development Management of the Regional Government of Puno inaugurated the Massiapo Alto Inambari centralized nursery, located in the province of Sandia. The modern infrastructure of 606.9 square meters will boost the production of 16,800 fruit and forest seedlings per year, benefiting over a thousand producers organized in 35 Field Schools (ECAs). The project resident, Arnaldo Mamani, explained that the nursery will produce citrus, avocado, and forest species seedlings. The work includes 33 germination and transplanting beds. During the inauguration, the regional manager of Agrarian Development, Richard Gómez, emphasized that primary production must be complemented with fruit transformation and processing to generate greater economic income for the beneficiaries.
