The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, through the Executive Unit Sierra Azul Fund, carried out the delivery of an important water sowing and harvesting project, which will directly benefit farming families in the district of Mañazo, in the Puno region. “This project is an example of how water sowing and harvesting transforms the lives of our communities. We are not only storing water, we are ensuring the future, productivity, and well-being of the farming families of Mañazo. Our commitment is to continue reaching the highland areas with sustainable and real impact solutions,” said Santos Ramos Ccopa, head of the Executive Unit Sierra Azul Fund. The intervention includes the construction of 8 dams for qochas and 34 kilometers of infiltration ditches, infrastructure aimed at increasing the availability of water for agricultural and livestock use.
