On September 9, following almost six months of flooding in the central-west region of the province of Buenos Aires, the Secretary of Agriculture for Javier Milei, producer Sergio Iraeta, appeared before the affected producers in the town of 9 de Julio, at the request of the president of the Argentine Rural Society, Nicolás Pino.
"I understand the problem. My family is near Daireaux, and in 1987 we were under water for three years. So I perfectly understand what the drama is. It is dramatic, it is terrifying, it is horrible. I understand it, which is why I also came to listen to you, to see if something can be done," Iraeta said to the producers of 9 de Julio at that time.
