Between January and July of 2024, quinoa exports from Peru experienced a 42% growth compared to the previous year, reaching a value of 70.1 million dollars and 28,253 tons in volume. The United States, Canada, Italy, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Chile, and Israel were the main importers, accounting for 68.5% of the total volume. Peru's leadership as the primary quinoa producer and exporter is supported by over 89,567 small farmers. Despite the domestic consumption being low at 2.5 kilograms per person per year, commercial plans have been implemented to enhance internal marketing and export. The production of quinoa in 2023 saw a recovery from drought, with yields reaching 1.8 tons per hectare and productivity varying across regions.
