In the first ten months of 2020, Ukraine imported 18,180 tons of pork from the European Union, which is 91% of the annual export quotas for EU suppliers, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine. Due to the Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, imports of fresh, chilled, and frozen pork within 20,000 tons are not subject to import duties. The quotas are expected to be exhausted by the end of November, and after that, non-listed chilled products will become 12% more expensive, and frozen pork 10% more expensive. The majority of the pork imported was from Denmark and Poland, accounting for nearly 53% of the total imports.
