Since 2017, solar explosions have led to increased UV radiation, causing significant damage to agricultural and livestock production worldwide, particularly in Mexico and Peru. The situation is expected to worsen, with the state of Jalisco, Mexico, experiencing radiation levels above 1,300 watts/square meter, severely impacting blueberry production. Experts recommend the use of nets with UV light coatings or products like kaolin, silicon, pine resins, algae, glutamic acid, and yeasts to mitigate the effects. These measures are necessary when radiation levels exceed 700 watts/square meter and there are 12 hours of radiation per week.
