Russia: Rapeseed oil exports increased by 72%

In January-December 2023, exports of rapeseed oil from Russia amounted to 1.7 million tons, which is 72% higher than for the same period in 2022. Revenue during this time increased by 20%. The main importer in 2023 was China: deliveries to the republic amounted to 1.46 million tons, which is 2.2 times higher than shipments a year earlier in physical terms and 53% in value terms, reports the Agroexport Center under the Ministry of Agriculture. European countries are also traditionally among the leading importers of Russian rapeseed oil, but their share in the total supply is decreasing. Thus, over the past year, exports of rapeseed oil to Latvia in physical terms decreased by 20% to 76 thousand tons, and in value terms by 47%. Shipments to Norway decreased fourfold to 16 thousand tons in volume and 6.7 times in value.
