Japan registered the highest temperature in its history today, since measurements began - 41.8 degrees Celsius, reported the Bulgarian Telegraph Agency. The eastern city of Isesaki, in Gunma Prefecture, set the record, surpassing the previous peak value of 41.2 degrees, recorded last week in Tamba, Hyogo Prefecture, informed Japan's national meteorological service. Average temperatures in the country continue to rise after records were set for the third consecutive year last month. Critically low rainfall was observed along the coast of the Sea of Japan in the northeastern part of the country, raising concerns about the rice harvest.
