Turkey: Record in sugar beet campaign in Muş

MUŞ (İHA) – 520 thousand tons of sugar beet was delivered by 1,711 farmers living in 58 villages in Muş. The ‘43rd Sugar Beet Purchase Campaign’ launched by Muş Şeker Üretim Sanayi A.Ş. has now come to an end. While 1,711 farmers producing in 58 villages on an area of 85 thousand acres broke a record with 520 thousand tons of sugar beet delivered to the factory, it is expected that approximately 2 billion 500 million TL will be contributed to the city’s economy with the processed sugar beet. General Manager Turgut Kızılkaya stated that they planted sugar beet on an area of 85 thousand acres with 1,711 producers and said, “Our expectation was around 450 thousand tons of beet.
