The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 22nd that it will push for system improvements to expand the investment targets of the agricultural and food mother fund, enabling the attraction of private capital to rural vacant houses and renovation projects for aging buildings. The government and local governments have been implementing vacant house renovation projects to resolve issues such as aesthetic degradation and safety concerns in rural areas, but the need for activating private investment has been raised recently as various private demands for utilizing vacant houses have increased. In response, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will reflect private investment demands in the Rural Development Act and the Building Maintenance Act concerning rural areas.
