The Brazilian coffee sector is closely monitoring negotiations surrounding a potential revision of the import tariffs imposed by the United States. In September, according to data from the Council of Brazilian Coffee Exporters (Cecafé), coffee shipments to the North American market recorded a 52.8% drop compared to the same month in 2024. In light of this scenario, Cecafé has intensified dialogue with the federal government to try to reverse the situation. This Wednesday (22), representatives of the entity met with the vice president and minister of Industry and Commerce, Geraldo Alckmin, at the Planalto Palace, to discuss recovery strategies. According to Marcos Matos, Cecafé's general director, the meeting was "very important and productive."
