Indonesia: Rice and sugar prices skyrocket, Jokowi orders to do this

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) held an internal meeting with a number of Ministers at the Presidential Palace, Monday (9/10/2023) to discuss stabilizing the prices of rice, sugar and corn. These three food commodities experienced an increase in prices on the market. Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) said that the price of rice outside the DKI Jakarta and West Java areas is currently trending down, but in other provinces it is still expensive.
