An online meeting was held by Anton Karmazin, Deputy Head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, with enterprises involved in Russian grain exports to review the results of 2021 and outline plans for 2022. The discussion highlighted the opening of new grain markets, including expanded exports of spring wheat and barley to China. Despite the pandemic limiting international visits, trade negotiations with several countries are expected to resume. However, there has been over 30 notifications from importing countries about non-compliance issues with Russian grain. Preliminary results show that for the 2021-22 agricultural year, Russia exported over 36 million tons of grain, a 20% decrease from the previous season, with Turkey and Egypt being the largest importers.
