RS projects 3.7 million tons of wheat

The wheat crop in Rio Grande do Sul shows progress in the production cycle, according to data from the Conjuntural Informativo released this Thursday (16) by Emater/RS-Ascar. The survey shows a predominance of the grain filling (50%) and maturation (30%) phases in the crops, with good uniformity due to sowing carried out within the windows recommended by the agricultural zoning. The weather conditions recorded in the period — reduced rainfall, good luminosity, and mild temperatures — favored the vegetative and reproductive development of the crop. They also contributed to the maintenance of leaf health and productive potential. "The weather has helped in the development of the crops and in the preservation of phytosanitary quality," the report points out.
