[Korean Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] Sunchang, where I live, has been selected as a target for the pilot project of the basic income for farmers and fishermen. Only seven out of 69 regions experiencing population decline were selected, and Sunchang is among them. The region has been in a festive mood for a while. The population, which had been endlessly decreasing despite numerous population policies, suddenly increased by hundreds of people. Questions arose about where the funds would be sourced from. Anxiety grew as news of lower-than-expected national and provincial financial support came in.
