In 2020, Turkey's export of fresh vegetables and fruits reached a new high, with a 20.8% increase compared to the previous year, totaling $2.7 billion. Despite the pandemic, the agricultural sector has seen minimal damage. The exports were led by tomatoes, cherries, tangerines, and pomegranates, with Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Iraq, and Romania being the main importers. Demand was high for apples, lemons, peaches, and nectarines, with Spain, Bangladesh, India, Great Britain, and the United Arab Emirates showing potential as new markets. The export of cucumbers, gherkins, apple juices, and canned tomatoes also saw demand, with Germany, the USA, Iraq, the Netherlands, and the UK as the leading importers.
