The FOB price for Russian 12.5% protein wheat for delivery in October and November stood at $229-230 per ton, down $1 from the previous week. However, the price for 11.5% protein wheat increased to $227.5 per ton, up $1.5 from the previous week.

Meanwhile, the price for 11.5% protein wheat from Ukraine dropped to $229 per ton, down $1 from the previous week. Rusagrotrans expects Russia to export 5.17 million tons of wheat in October 2025, an increase of 70,000 tons from the previous week's forecast, lower than the 5.98 million tons exported in the same period last year but higher than the five-year average of 4.79 million tons.

From October 1 to October 13, Russia exported 2.17 million tons of wheat.

The U.S. government shutdown continues as Congress has not approved funding, causing the U.S. Department of Agriculture to fail to release the October supply and demand report last Thursday. Analysts expect the report to potentially increase the global end-of-season wheat and corn inventories for 2025/26, with U.S. corn production estimates likely to be reduced, but inventory estimates may be increased.

Last week, the Rosario Grain Exchange (BCR) increased its forecast for Argentina's 2025/26 wheat production by 3 million tons to a record 23 million tons, although crops in the main production area of Buenos Aires are currently being affected by excessive rainfall. The Buenos Aires Grain Exchange expects a production of 22 million tons, while the U.S. Department of Agriculture predicts 19.5 million tons.

The road delivery price for fourth-grade wheat (12.5% protein) in Russia's deep-water ports remained unchanged at 16,700-16,900 rubles per ton, while the rail delivery price remained at 16,000-16,100 rubles per ton. The price in shallow-water ports dropped to 14,900 rubles per ton, down 200 rubles from the previous week.

The price for fourth-grade wheat (12.5% protein) in the southern regions was 14,200-15,000 rubles per ton, up 100 rubles from the previous week. Wheat prices in central Russia decreased by 50 rubles to 12,500-12,800 rubles per ton, while prices along the Volga River dropped by 150 rubles to 11,500-13,000 rubles per ton. In Siberia, the price for fourth-grade wheat remained at 8,400-10,000 rubles per ton. Buyers from Kazakhstan reportedly purchased fourth and fifth-grade wheat from farms at 6,000-8,000 rubles per ton.
