According to data from the Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center, from January to August 2025, Russia exported approximately 2,500 tons of wine to overseas markets, with a value of nearly $4 million, representing a 17% increase in volume and a 31% increase in value compared to the same period last year.
The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center noted that China accounted for 31% of Russia's total wine exports, with Belarus second (23%), Kazakhstan third (15%), followed by Turkey (8%) and Abkhazia (6%).
The Russian Agricultural Products Export Development Center stated that from January to August 2025, Russia's wine exports to China doubled, exceeding $1.2 million.
In 2024, the global wine consumption market was valued at $333 billion, and the market size is expected to reach $337 billion in 2025.
On March 18, the Russian Agricultural Products Export Center informed the satellite news agency that according to preliminary statistics, in 2024, Russia exported over 8.3 million tons of agricultural products to China, with a total export value of approximately $7.4 billion. Among the agricultural products exported from Russia to China, the largest export by volume was canola oil (13%), followed by barley (10%), and then sunflower oil and peas (each 8%), and soybeans (7%). China became the main importer of Russian agricultural products in 2024, maintaining this position for two consecutive years.
