Russian fishery catch volume increased by 10% since the beginning of the year

Russian Satellite News Agency, Moscow, Russia’s Federal Fisheries Service announced that as of November 22, 2023, Russia’s fishery catch volume had reached nearly 4.9 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%. ​ Among them, the fishing volume of the Far East fishing grounds exceeded 3.7 million tons (a year-on-year increase of 15.6%): 1.8 million tons of pollack, 327,000 tons of herring, 72,900 tons of plaice, 105,500 tons of cod, and 608,600 tons of Atlantic salmon (compared to 2021) increase by 13%). ​ The catch in the northern fisheries was 425,600 tons, including 243,700 tons of cod, 70,200 tons of haddock, and 23,000 tons of capelin. The catch in the western fisheries was nearly 70,000 tons (an increase of 1.5%), of which nearly 34,600 were herring. 10,000 tons, including 22,500 tons of Baltic herring. ​ The catch volume of the Sea of Azov-Black Sea fishery was 35,600 tons, including 8,900 tons of European anchovy and 14,800 tons of millet herring.
