In the second half of the 2024/25 marketing year, Ukraine experienced a significant increase in rye exports, with volumes reaching 10.75 thousand tons, a 1,130% rise from the previous year. This surge was largely due to large orders from Spain and Israel, who imported 7.15 thousand tons and 3.05 thousand tons of Ukrainian rye respectively in September and October. Meanwhile, Germany, the leading importer in the previous year, and Poland, with a 28% reduction in imports, did not contribute as much to the current season's figures. Despite the increased export activity, Ukraine's rye production for 2024 fell by 10% compared to the previous year, totaling 209 thousand tons. The export potential for the season was estimated at 20 thousand tons.
