The 2023-2024 export season for table grapes from Atacama has been highly productive, with over 8.6 million boxes shipped worldwide, as reported by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and the Ministry of Agriculture. The United States emerged as the top recipient, importing over 5.6 million boxes. To comply with global market standards, the SAG issued 725 phytosanitary certificates. The port of Caldera was instrumental in this achievement, handling shipments of more than 2.3 million boxes to the U.S. This season's success is part of a broader trend, with Chile experiencing a 13% increase in fresh fruit exports in the first quarter of the year, led by table grapes, cherries, and plums, primarily to the Far East market.
